Good memories

Adam and Dave... again
I spent yesterday afternoon with Dave and Adam again. First we went to a cafe called (directly translated) "Books and booze", where we found a 50 year old Mens Magazine! I didn't know they existed as far back as that, so it was a surprise. There was one picture of a lady in a bickini, otherwise it was about fishing, hunting, electronics etc. Basicly what we have today, only we have more women with less clothes.

Then we ate in a greek resturant called Akropolis in Stavanger. Very good food, stories, jokes and company! They are great guys, and I was happy I could see them one more time before they were on their way back to England.

Vaccine shots!
Although my arms are hurting right now, it is still considered a good memory in my book (blog?), since it reminds me that THE TRIP is getting closer.
I took four vaccine shots today, but I still have two times left to make it last longer. The doctor said that I now have every vaccination they have avaliable :)

Good memories of the weekend

Spending time with Dave and Adam
Well, the whole weekend is a good memory. I meet up with Dave and Adam who contacted me through couchsurfing.com and asked if I wanted to meet them for a drink or something in the weekend if I had the time. Well, a drink request turned out to become a two day "trip" visiting Preikestolen and I also brought them home to my hometown and family in Karmøy.
We had a really good time, and it was really good to see them so thrilled about things they saw and experinced here in Norway (they are from New Zealand and England). Definetly two guys I want to meet again!

Good memories of the day

An email from a new friend
If there is one thing I love in life, it is to meet new friends that you can talk to about everything and that makes you feel good and happy about yourself and life. I meet one of these persons in Copenhagen this weekend. We talked alot about motivation this weekend, and getting good friends is definetly one of my biggest motivators.

Spending a day in Copenhagen looking for weird danish people (yes there are several) and just walking around looking and observing was just great, and I can't wait until I'm in New York doing the same.

I sent my application for a visa to the Indian Embassy
Today I posted my application for a visa into India. We are going there on our trip (me and Magnus), so there are some things that needs arranging. I'm just happy to check this thing of on my list over things to do.

Day 2 of Summercourse, Viking day

Well, the first full day is over and we are about to begin the second.

Yesterday started with a late (10 o'clock) welcome lecture, where Jon Kleppe gave some information about NTNU and the participants introduced themselves. It was followed by "Introduction to Petroleum" by Kleppe, "EMGS - short presentation" by Nils Arne Øksendal and "Introduction to Integrated Operations" by Jon Lippe.

We are lucky that the institute is sponsoring us with lunch at PTS, it was really good, and all of the participants liked it. We even got cake! We are having lunch here every day, so we are very happy about that!

Afterwards we had a tour around campus, and the participans got to spend sometime on the internet. Since it was raining a little bit today, we ended up going back to the school, where the participants could relax a little bit before the viking party.

We also took the ones who wanted to a trip to the Fortress when it was sunny.

The Viking party was a big success, with baked-potatoes for dfinner, women-carrying-drinking-contest, beer/wine-making and a bapthism where every participant got their own viking name :)

That was about it I think... we are looking forward to another good day :)

Summercourse 2007 - Arrival day

So it is time for the BEST summercourse 2007 in Trondheim. This year it is about petroleum and integrated operations, with the title "Integrate your operations: cooperate across borders".

Yesterday was arrival day, and I must say that it went very good. Of course I was a little bit stressed, but all the participants are accounted for (one girl is arriving on wedensday). There were some delays in flight, for a while we didn't know if one girl had arrived or when she was arriving (she arrive early this morning), but no big problems.

We invaded the Singsaker Elementary School at 21.00 (there were someone there before us), and started cooking food, so that the big train-group (counting 12 persons) would have dinner when they arrived.

Dinner was followed by get-2-know-games and drinks, but the party ended around 02.00, because people were tired and going to bed. I think I got about 2,5 hours of sleep, but that's normal during a BEST course :)

The last participants were picked up this morning, and now everything is ready to being the first lectures (even pick up 40 condoms for the welcome package this morning).

Today itinerary is introductions courses, a campus tour and lessons on norwegian history and language, followed by a Viking dinner and party where we are going to teach them how to make beer, and how to carry their wives (kvinnfolkbæring).

Wish us good luck! I will try to updated every day! BESTspirit!!!!

@ Torp on the way home

Right now I'm sitting on Torp Airport in Sandefjord waiting for my flight home to Karmøy. Been living at Magnus' place in Tønsberg since friday, so now it's time to go home to see the family.

Have had a really good time in Tønsberg with Magnus. Relaxing down in his basement for the most part, but of course other things as well.

On friday and saturday we slept very much, tired after the train from tr.heim and after the examperiod. Didn't feel like doing much, although we went a trip to the city on both friday and saturday.

On sunday we, of course watched when Norway won the European Championship in Handball!!!!! :)

Yesterday we went to the cinema to see Borat. Very good movie, but kinda "scary" to watch when he is making a fool of himself and others. Spent more time under my jacket on this movie than on a scary movie. Well, well.

So now it's time to go home... do some chistmas shooping, see the family and meet friends :)

Have a merry merry christmas!!!
